Rob Short is a former Canadian Men’s National Field Hockey team member; professional field hockey player in The Netherlands; and founder of Rob Short Coaching Academy (RSCA). He understands the dedication it takes to be the absolute best.

Rob was the assistant coach with the National Men’s Team when they successfully qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Rob earned 343 caps playing for Canada.  He was Captain of the National Team from 2001 to 2008 and retired in 2013. He represented Canada in the following competitions: 2009 member of the World’s XI; a two-time Olympian (Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008); two World Cups (1998, 2010); five Pan Am Games; and four Commonwealth Games.  He played professional field hockey in the Netherlands for 14 years; Captain of HGC (Euro Hockey League Champions 2010/2011) and named Most Valuable Player in the European Hockey League (EHL) 2011.

During his professional career in The Netherlands, he also worked as a coach/trainer for the ABN-AMRO Hockey Academy and for the HGC women’s first team in the Dutch Overgangsklasse Hockey Competition. He holds a Masters Degree in International Coaching from the Johan Cruyff Institute of Sport in Amsterdam.
