RSCA SUMMER Academy 2026 (Grade 10 to USports/NCAA)

At Rob Short Coaching Academy (RSCA), athletes train in a high-performance environment built around one core expectation: give your absolute best in every session. Upholding this standard helps athletes elevate their skills and confidence on the field while developing discipline, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence that carries into everyday life.

RSCA fosters a positive, collaborative environment where athletes receive personalized attention and guidance from a diverse team of expert coaches.

Summer Academy Overview

• 11 intensive training sessions designed to elevate performance within the RSCA High-Performance Academy
• Target athletes: Grades 10 through USPORTS/NCAA-level athletes, with programming tailored to prepare players for the next level. Athletes will be grouped within the session accordingly.
  ***Please be advised that there may be some movement between this age group and the Grades 6–9 group, which trains earlier, contingent upon registration numbers.
• Coaching staff: Each session features 4–6 expert coaches and trainers, including Olympians, former international players, and former collegiate and professional athletes
• Interactive feedback: Continuous in-session coaching for technical and tactical development
• World-class facilities: Training takes place on water-based field hockey turf at Wright Field, UBC

Academy Fit & Expectations

While there is no formal selection process, RSCA reserves the right to assess athletes during the first session. If it is determined that the program is not the right fit, we may recommend additional development before reapplying.

In such cases, athletes will receive a refund minus a $105 (GST included) assessment fee.

Our goal is to build confidence and ensure every athlete is placed in an environment where they can succeed.

We look for athletes who:

• Demonstrate strong technical and tactical awareness
• Show passion and commitment to the sport
• Are receptive to feedback and eager to improve
• Possess the fitness required for high-performance training
• Exhibit professionalism and contribute positively to the group

Registration Fees

For new summer athletes the fees include an RSCA training tank top. Returning athletes will not receive a new tank top. Please contact Rob if you require a replacement.

****Note: This program sold out last year. Early registration is strongly recommended.

Refund Policy

• Fees are non-refundable once the academy begins, including in cases of injury or scheduling conflicts
• Withdrawals prior to the start date may be eligible for a refund minus a $210 (GST included) non-refundable deposit. Please ensure prior to registration that this is the right fit for you.
